Backstory
Released as part of the OFF WHITE x IKEA collaboration, the “WET GRASS” rug formed part of Virgil Abloh’s vision to make design accessible while still concept driven. The collection challenged traditional ideas of furniture and homeware by applying industrial language and quotation style messaging to domestic objects. The rug quickly became one of the most recognisable pieces from the project, symbolising Abloh’s influence across fashion, design and contemporary culture.
