Authenticity at The Attic
Buying sneakers or streetwear from a stranger online is a gamble. An Instagram shop, a marketplace account, someone selling from their bedroom. The photos look right. The price feels like a steal. And then a replica shows up at your door.
We see those replicas up close every week, and honestly, some of them are scary good. The fabric feels right, the stitching is neat, even the labels are copied down to the smallest detail. The bigger the hype around a brand, the more copies are out there. Supreme, Jordan, Fear of God Essentials, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro, Dior, Moncler, they all get copied.
That is why authenticity is where everything at The Attic starts. We buy directly from brands, official retailers and sellers we have worked with for years. And every single item, from our own stock or sourced through our On Demand service, goes through our warehouse in Zwijndrecht first. Our specialists take it in hand, check it, and only then does it ship. Nothing leaves unchecked. Not one item.
Curious what our team actually looks at? Read how we spot the difference. Or bring us your own item and let us check it for you.
Zero tolerance for replicas
Buying somewhere else anyway? Take five minutes to check who you are dealing with:
- Look up the registered business number (KVK in the Netherlands).
- Find out who owns the shop and what their reputation is.
- Read independent reviews on Trustpilot or Trusted Shops.
- Stay sharp when a shop only exists on Instagram, with no website, no reviews and no business registration.
- Watch out for dropshippers. Many resellers ship items straight to the customer without ever checking the product physically. The risk of receiving a fake is high.
