Originally designed by Tinker Hatfield and first introduced in 1990, the Air Jordan 5 became known for its fighter jet–inspired aesthetics, reflective tongue and aggressive midsole detailing. The 2006 Olive edition reinterprets the classic model with a military-inspired palette, pairing olive suede uppers with contrasting black and bright orange accents. The result is a bold yet versatile take on the silhouette, reflecting the experimental colourways that defined Jordan retros of the period.

Backstory
When the Air Jordan 5 debuted in 1990, it introduced several design innovations that pushed basketball footwear forward. Tinker Hatfield drew inspiration from World War II fighter planes, visible in the shark-tooth shapes on the midsole and the aggressive stance of the silhouette. The model also featured a reflective 3M tongue, lace locks and translucent outsole elements, making it both performance-driven and visually striking.
By the mid-2000s, Jordan Brand began exploring new colourways that expanded the cultural reach of classic silhouettes.
