Backstory
Bobbito Garcia, also known as “Kool Bob Love,” became a central figure in New York’s hip-hop and streetball communities during the 1990s. Alongside DJ Stretch Armstrong, he hosted the influential Stretch and Bobbito radio show, which helped introduce some of hip-hop’s most important artists to the world. At the same time, Garcia remained deeply connected to basketball culture, particularly the legendary courts of New York City.
His passion for both basketball and sneakers made him a natural collaborator for Nike. Over the years, Bobbito became known for documenting playground basketball and celebrating the cultural importance of street courts. The Air Force 1 'Bobbito' edition pays tribute to this legacy, capturing the spirit of New York’s basketball culture and the communities that shaped it.
