The Nike Air Force 1 High VT Midnight Fog Wool reinterprets the classic Air Force 1 High silhouette through Nike’s vacuum technology and a distinctive wool construction. The upper is formed using Nike’s VT (Vac Tech) process, which creates seamless panels that give the sneaker a smooth and modern appearance. The Midnight Fog colourway introduces a deep grey tone that complements the textured wool material, resulting in a refined and understated aesthetic.
By removing traditional stitching and layering, the vacuum-moulded construction emphasises the clean shape of the Air Force 1 while maintaining the model’s iconic high-top structure and ankle strap. The combination of innovative manufacturing techniques and unconventional materials transforms the familiar AF1 into a more contemporary and minimal interpretation of the legendary basketball silhouette.
Backstory
Originally introduced in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 was designed by Bruce Kilgore as the first basketball sneaker to feature Nike Air cushioning. Over the decades, the silhouette became one of Nike’s most influential designs, evolving from a performance basketball shoe into a cornerstone of global sneaker culture.
In the early 2010s, Nike began experimenting with new production techniques to reinterpret classic silhouettes. One of these innovations was Vac Tech, a process that heat-moulds materials into seamless panels. This approach allowed Nike designers to streamline the construction of traditional models while introducing new materials such as wool. The Air Force 1 High VT Midnight Fog Wool reflects this period of experimentation, blending technological innovation with the heritage of the iconic AF1.
